Wooden Eye Services

Overview

Wooden Eye Resource Management provides practical support for communities, organizations, and agencies working to reduce wildfire risk and build long-term capacity. Services are designed to meet communities where they are—whether that means early-stage planning, implementation support, or strengthening systems already in place.

Engagements range from short-term technical assistance to longer-term partnerships focused on coordination, implementation, and follow-through.

Community Support

Community Support is designed for communities seeking hands-on facilitation and coordination to organize wildfire mitigation efforts, build local leadership, and move from planning to action.

This work focuses on creating shared understanding, clarifying priorities, and supporting resident-led momentum while aligning with partner and funding requirements.

Community Support may include:

  • Community wildfire workshops and facilitation

  • Risk assessment and mitigation action planning

  • Support for Firewise and Fire Adapted Communities efforts

  • Home assessment training and implementation support

  • Coordination with local partners, agencies, and organizations

Outcomes typically include:

  • Clear mitigation priorities and next steps

  • Increased resident engagement and leadership

  • Practical plans that are ready for implementation and funding

  • Systems communities can continue to use over time

Technical Assistance

Technical Assistance focuses on the tools, data, and workflows that support effective planning, implementation, and reporting. This support helps communities and partners translate information into decisions and clearly communicate their work to funders and stakeholders.

Technical Assistance can be provided as a stand-alone service or integrated with Community Support and Consulting.

Technical Assistance may include:

  • GIS mapping and primary spatial analysis

  • StoryMaps, dashboards, and visual communication tools

  • Data collection and tracking systems for mitigation work

  • Support for grant applications and post-award reporting

  • Development of templates, workflows, and documentation

This support helps partners:

  • Organize and track mitigation activities

  • Strengthen grant and reporting capacity

  • Improve coordination across projects and partners

  • Share progress and impact clearly

Consulting

Consulting services support organizations and partnerships working to strengthen wildfire adaptation programs, coordination structures, or long-term strategies. This work is typically advisory and focused on planning, alignment, and decision-making rather than direct facilitation.

Consulting engagements are tailored to organizational needs and capacity.

Consulting may include:

  • Program and partnership strategy development

  • Implementation planning and sequencing

  • Coordination and governance support

  • Coaching and thought partnership for staff or leadership

  • Support navigating state and federal program requirements

How Engagement Works

Projects are collaborative and tailored to community or organizational needs. Engagements may include:

  • Short-term support (workshops, facilitation, mapping, or assessments)

  • Multi-phase projects combining planning and implementation

  • Ongoing advisory or technical assistance support

Scope, timeline, and deliverables are developed collaboratively to align with funding requirements, community capacity, and project goals.
